SILICONE ROOF COATINGS & SPECIALTY COATINGS

At Foam Tight Insulation, Inc. our services are not limited to spraying foam. In fact, we specialize in applying specialty coatings, specifically silicone roof coatings and polyurea.

SILICONE ROOF COATINGS

At Foam Tight Insulation, Inc. our services are not limited to spraying foam. In fact, we specialize in applying silicone roof coatings.

Eliminate Roof Tear-Offs and Stop Leaks

We install the only 95% solid, 100% solvent-free silicone roof coating available on the market today. By applying our unique silicone coating over your existing damaged (or new) roof, we can eliminate the need for costly roof tear-offs. This seamless, gapless, waterproof system prevents water from infiltrating your roof which stops future roof failures and leaks.

We can apply silicone over numerous roof systems including a rusty metal roof, an EPDM roof, and a foam roof. The silicone system fully adhers to the roof substrate which eliminates the common sources of leaks and pooling water beneath roofing materials.

We are proud to install the only 95% solid, 100% solvent-free silicone roof coating that is available. Gaco Western’s GacoFlex S-2000 is a single-component, moisture-cured silicone coating that is petroleum and solvent–free. Unlike traditional silicone coatings that contain up to 30% solvent (which is released into the air), the S-2000 is 95% solids by volume; therefore, 95% of the silicone stays on the roof when it is cured. Moreover, because the S-2000 is 95% solids, less product is required to achieve the dry mil thickness; this reduces labor costs and time.

Benefits of our Silicone System

1. Eco-friendly system: Our silicon is is a 95% solid 100% solvent-free, highly-reflective white coating (up to 7 LEED points) which gives the roof a cooler value.

2. Reduced energy costs: A cool roof reduces energy costs and increases comfort levels by reducing temperature fluctuation inside a building. The average energy savings ranges from 7% to 15% of the total energy costs.

3. Extends the life of a roof: Our silicone creates a uniform, seamless surface that remains flexible even in low temperatures. The S-2000 can expand and contract with the changing seasons which are when most roof damage occurs. The silicone endures the continuous thermal stresses over the lifetime of the roof. Moreover, our silicone resists blistering under extended ponding water, creates a UV light barrier (preventing substrate degradation), and has a high degree of adhesion.

4. Warranty: Our silicone carries a warranty of up to 20 years.

What is Polyurea?

Polyureas are spray-applied membranes that are ideal for protection of metal, steel, polyurethane foams, concrete structures. Polyureas are also spray-applied to geo-textile applications and offer a UV stable and chemical resistant membrane. Cured polyurea can follow any contour and provide a monolithic containment barrier. Both tough and flexible, polyureas are membranes that resist thermal stresses and are used to compensate for substrate cracking.

Polyureas are 100% solid when cured, and are both VOC and odor free products. Several colors are available with factory added pigments and dyes.

Polyurea offers many advantages, including its physical properties; these include polyurea’s ability to cure quickly and return the area to service. Polyurea can usually return an area to service with greater speed than traditional coatings, minimizing down time and reducing revenue loss. This savings is especially noticeable when polyurea is installed on water tanks, waste-water clarifiers, parking garages and chemical storage tanks.

Where can polyurea coatings be applied?

Polyurea can be applied over a many different substrates (metals, concrete, wood, etc.) in a wide range of temperature and humidity environments.

Recommended Applications

1. Leak-proof membranes for chemical storage.

2. Storage of toxic products, underground dump sites and other applications where leaks and spills must be prevented.

3. Steel storage tanks, underground pipes, bridges and any application where corrosion must be prevented.

4. Sealant for cracks including concrete, metal and pavement.

5. Truck beds, weatherproofing, statues and many more everyday industrial, commercial and residential uses.
